Let’s talk about what is the main reason that some candidates are facing problem to get interview call and job. It is necessary to first understand how the company selects candidates for the job
Take an example. You want to build a house and you want to hire labor. What kind of labor will you keep? A person who has the skills, but cannot do all your work or someone with such a skill who has to do all the work that you need?
The common mistake that we usually do is that we blindly use the same resume for every job. May be due to laziness. Most people just see what skills they need and its freshness or experience? Don’t use same resume for every job. Even though a person with experience in the manager will apply for an entry level position, but if his experience and skill not matching with the position. No one will hire him. You can make the necessary with your personal assets, skills, duties and responsibilities at internship and current /last workplace.
#Note– Company #does_not care what skills you have. They care about what skills #they_need.
If you are applying from outside the Canada must use a #virtual_number.
Do you add a cover letter? Let the company know what you can offer them on your behalf.
Sometime we forget the name of the company where we have applied the job. When companies called, we do not even know what position we have applied for and what they are looking for. Keep your laptop open, and make the list of job where you have applied with their job description. If company is calling you then open the details during the interview for good performance. Always collect the information about the company like history, technology, head person etc
Did you leave the last company in a short time? At least complete 1 year or first promotion or first increment. If you already left(jobless) the company and looking for another job, it is difficult to negotiate the package with HR and chances of interview calls are less because HR feels that if you get a good option then you will leave this company too. But if you have a good option when you are working in your current company then better to go.
Are you waiting for reference? If someone refers you to this company it does not mean that the company will hire you. Refer means that someone suggested / informed you about the company and the job. The company will hire you only when you are fit for the company and how you will represent yourself in interviews and tests.
